I really really love my DL and want to get it working in my new Lappy...

Hey TheFrog,

I have a Macbook Pro 5.5 (Midsummer 2009), with a 13,3" screen and 4 GB of RAM, running Ubuntu 9.10 or DL 3.5 very nicely as the default OS, including sound, illuminated keyboard and touchpad.

Just follow the instructions of this wiki http://wiki.debian.org/MacBookPro. 

In addition to the Wiki I suggest to keep a partition with the Mac OS, to be able to do firmware upgrades to your Macbook.

Hi scept1c,

the sound configuration is different on the various MacBook Pro models. I have a Macbook Pro 5.5 (Midsummer 2009).

You can figure out your MacBook model by typing this in a terminal

sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name
