Hi guys, my name is karim. I just installed Dream Linux and got rid of ubuntu, mostly because I like the look of DL and I wanted to use the easy install feature. But, the easy install launcher on my desktop doesn't do anything. Is there another way to run the easy install app, or how do I get it to work?

Hi Karim,

Dreamlinux only has 4 developers working in their spare time (for free I might add), unlike Ubuntu which has an army of PAID developers. While most of us do try to monitor the forums as much as possible, expecting a reply within 2 hours is a bit much. Especially this time of year, when most of us are out with family for the holidays. As with any forums, searching the posts for your issue may solve your problem without having to post at all.

Just installed DL today and was having the same problem, could not run easy install...This post fixed the issue...thanks for the easy to understand and follow directions.

EasyInstall icon points to the wrong program on my system

Actually, both are correct. One is just newer than the other. Following the thread mentioned in my previous post will update your system to use the newer one.

You are probably correct, but only easyinst.rb would work on my machine.
I have a question. I installed Opera with easy install. The program says it is installed,
but I can't find it. It is not in the Internet section of the list where FireFox is.
Also a find search turns up various Opera links, I can't find the executable.
Any ideas?

Check your netware,please!The easy install launcher on your desktop works very well in the netware,I think.
