First and foremost of the 8 distros I have tried no user group in any of the forums have ever impressed me more with their caring attitudes.
My inability to ultimately open up and use DL was not due to the forum members not trying.
It was a combination of things and as much as I wanted it to work (and I truly did) it was the inability to have my DNS recognized and the thought of having to manually configure as well as the questions I would have to ask.
Even a 77 year old degreed retiree retains some semblance of vanity I guess. Plus Debian, Ubuntu, and Mint which I presently triple boot with XP has put me in a comfort zone that DL was pulling me out of.
Thank you all and at some point after I get this virtualbox figured out (another ongoing project) I might give it another shot.
Its hard for me to give up, but I wish each of you the best

I haven't been so active on the forum of late and am sorry it hasn't worked out like you want. If you want help setting up Virtual box or Vmware to help you test DL - then be sure to ask!!

The guys here are dedicated to helping others and we will continue to try to help you.

Firstly I like to compliment you for trying and I do hope that when (and if) I am 77 I still have the stamina you have.
Dreamlinux is indeed -- IMHO -- not as beginner friendly as for example Ubuntu and has its own target group.
Should you ever want to try it again or like to know more, feel free to drop in and ask questions.
We'll be here and will try to help you where we can.

With regard to VirtualBox or VMware Server, you may find these blog posts interesting to read (not intended as shameless self promotion btw  ).

I would just like to repeat what the others have said. We are always here for DL help, maybe DL4.0 when it's released will solve some of your problems.
