How can I cd into cdrom drive ?, I feel so akward asking this

I believe that your cdrom directory is in your /mnt directory.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong,

Well, chadfluegge it gets mounted but not in /mnt but in media.

What you can do is put a cd in the drive and follow it to source..

Code:

cd /

this will bring you down to root level and then you can write ls to get a list of what directories are there. Then you can cd into media and write ls to see what is there...etc.

You will find your cd-rom in media.

cd media/Dreamlinux  
              

Dreamlinux is my cd-rom mounted and then just write ls for a list of directories.

I had forgotten about the /media directory...but was sure that the cdrom can be accessed from /mnt/cdrom as well?

Can't verify at the moment, as both boxes are dead... (hd finally crashed on my box...) and am currently on the vista partition on this laptop.

Hi chadfluegge 

You are not wrong. You can mount in /mnt if you want it is just that there is a media directory and tha usually takes care of cd-roms but that doesn't mean that another distro doesn't use another way of doing things.
