Things To Do After Install And How To Upgrade

Once the initial dream-update has been performed after an install from DL3.3 live CD,
just the action of opening Dreamlinux Easy Install from

Applications> System Tools> Easy-Install
will continue the dream-update process.

You need to be connected to the internet for this routine.

This update can also be easily done from Terminal

Code:

sudo apt-get update && apt-get install dream-update && easyinstall.rb

Enjoy your DreamOS.


FYC: For Your Convenience

I've noticed quite a few forum members had transient difficulties in obtaining the DL3.2/DL3.1/DL3.0-To-DL3.3 generation script, for whatever reason.

I'm attaching the file here to ease your pain.

After obtaining the script file, you might need to change permissions for it by executing this in Terminal

Code:

sudo chmod 755 dlupdate3.3.sh

Once that's done, you're ready to go

Code:

sudo ./dlupdate3.3.sh

You'll get this in return;

This script will update your Dreamlinux3 to the newest version.
The newest version fixes some installer bugs and adds new funcionalities
related to the creation of a portable version of Dreamlinux
that you can carry with you all the time, with 100% of persistence.

Be sure to use a partition with a minimum of 1.5 GB available

Inform the complete path to your Dreamlinux3 iso image:

After which

Inform the destination directory for your new iso (ex: /tmp or /mnt/sda12):       

Then

You've chosen /x/xx/ as the destination for the new iso, to be based on your x/xx/DL3.0/1/2

If destination and source file are OK, you should get this message

Now generating the new Dreamlinux 3.3 updated iso...

...leading to

New DL3.3.iso was generated at /x/xx/   

Most anticipated message will be this

Mission accomplished!
