TO ALL DREAMLINUX USERS:

We are making an update of Dreamlinux 3.0, (named Dreamlinux 3.1 Desktop Edition) available. This covers three case scenarios:


1. If you haven't Downloaded Dreamlinux 3.0 yet
If you have not downloaded Dreamlinux 3.0 yet, you can opt to download this release update instead. It has an improved installer which eliminates a few problems caused by more specific hardware configurations.

2. If your Dreamlinux 3 installed ok
If you downloaded the first Dreamlinux 3.0 iso, and it worked well, you don't need to download this release 3.1 as it doesn't come with any significant updates apart from the installer, that was fixed up to address some specific issues.

3. If you already have the iso but had problems installing
Therefore, if you have already downloaded Dreamlinux 3.0 and it showed some flaws while installing to your HDD, there is no need whatsoever to download the new iso as you only need to simply follow the procedure found here  http://dreamlinuxforums.org/index.php/topic,1304.0.html, which is far quicker than downloading an entire iso again.

This method only consists of downloading and running the "dl3update.sh" script, which will produce a completely new updated iso, the same as release update 3.1 iso file (The iso was generated with that script).

Abbiamo effettuato un aggiornamento di Dreamlinux 3.0, (chiamato Dreamlinux 3.1 Desktop Edition). Questo aggiornamento copre tre possibili scenari:
Se non avete ancora scaricato Dreamlinux 3.0.
Se non avete ancora scaricato Dreamlinux 3.0, potete optare per il download di questa release aggiornata. Ha un installer migliorato che elimina alcuni problemi causati da configurazioni hardware più specifiche.

Se la vostra installazione di Dreamlinux 3.0 è ok
Se avete scaricato la prima ISO di Dreamlinux 3.0 e funziona bene, non avete bisogno di scaricare questa release 3.1 in quanto non aggiunge particolari aggiornamenti a parte l'installer, che è stato corretto in base a specifici problemi.

Se avete già una ISO, ma avete problemi nella installazione.
Quindi, se avete già scaricato Dreamlinux 3.0 e mostra qualche problema nella installazione su Hard Disk, non è necessario pertanto scaricare la nuova ISO e basta seguire semplicemente la procedura indicata qui http://dreamlinuxforums.org/index.php/topic,1304.0.html, che è un metodo più rapido che scaricare una intera ISO.

Questo metodo consiste solamente nello scaricare e avviare lo script "dl3update.sh", che produrrà una ISO completamente aggiornata, la stessa che costituisce la ISO aggiornata 3.1 (La ISO è stata generata con questo script).

This release has resolved all installation issues for me. Thanks guys. FYI Thinkpad T41 - DL 3.0 installed over three partitions (swap, root / and /home) but didn't install fully as it didn't write to my /home; then I took a deep breath and installed over the whole HDD - and it hung on writing the grub and refused to boot.)  All that is resolved with 3.1

Well, after 3 attemps to install Dreamlinux 3.1 i finally got it correct. In DL 3.0 i had the same trouble, the install froze one time on 60%, one time on 86% and one time on 91%. With the 3.1 version it froze one time on 86% and the second time it said it couldn't mount the drive at all. The third time it installed without any trouble. Not much of an improvement considering the improved installer.

Another thing i noticed on both versions is that when i enable Compiz it doesn't show the AWN dock or any Compiz effects. This worked from the live-cd but not after the installation. Strange...? The wireless connection strenght, of which i spoke a few days ago seems to be a bit better and stays around 74%.

You who have already downloaded the 3.1 image from links above, could you please make a directory called Dreamlinux3.1 and put that isofile in it. Then download this file

in to that same directory. There is md5sum for the iso. Then open torrent in your favourite client and choose to download to that directory you maded (Dreamlinux3.1). If all goes right, your client should check it and start seeding. It worked here .

EDIT: I made a mistake here: Choose download to that directory where you made Dreamlinux3.1, for example if directory structure is /home/tinde/Dreamlinux3.1 then download directory is /home/tinde. Sorry for that.
